St. Matthew & St. Timothy
In Our Own Words is a New York City-based, month-long, free art exhibit open to the community in honor of June Pride and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. Consisting of more than 20 artists from around the city and world, In Our Own Words is making space for Black Indigenous People of Color in the LGBTQ community to celebrate our intersectionality and belonging, while remembering those who remain unsafe in the shadows and those we’ve lost in the battle for liberation and visibility.
Compiled of donated art, the Church of St. Matthew and St. Timothy is eager to compensate these young artists generous enough to part with their work for the mission of spreading God’s Pride and Love. Many of these artists have never been paid for their art and SMST is working to provide any compensation we can to ensure they know their value and our gratitude! Please, take a moment to donate to support our LGBTQ+ Pride art exhibition, and enjoy our exhibit and community throughout the month of June!
